WALK-THROUGH OF SLINKIES AND THE WINDOW FRAME
Tamara Wilson, whose Slinkies and the Window Frame is on exhibit at the museum, has agreed to do a walk-through of her show for FoSLAM members at 4:00pm on April 4th. Let us know if you plan to attend
The walk-through, with Tamara and Addison Field, Chief Curator, will begin at 4 p.m. Wilson will talk about her work and members can learn more about what goes into her creations and the exhibit. Her artwork uses many materials, like remnant tile, truck bed liner, felt, oak, and expanding foam as a way to understand the domestic by pretending and discovering who and what occupies that space.
There is no cost to members for this special walk-through tour. If you are interested in attending, please be at the museum a few minutes prior to 4 p.m. We hope to see you there!
Also on First Friday, Jim Noel will be performing in the Atrium
Jim has been active on the Juneau music scene for the last 25 years, playing jazz piano, organ and electric bass. In addition to performing, he also composes formal pieces, several of which have been performed by the Con Brio Chamber Series and the Orpheus Project.
Come and enjoy the music by this talented musician!
