Alaska State Museum - Juneau

Saturday, November 2, 10:00am-3:00pm


Salmon Skin Necklace Making, Saturday, November 2 at 10:00am-1:00pm (ages 13-19)
Artist Joel Isaak will show examples of how salmon skin can be turned into different types of leather for making artwork. Participants will practice different steps of making salmon skin leather. Materials will be provided for participants to make a necklace out salmon skin and beads.

Salmon Skin Processing, Saturday, November 2:00pm-3:00pm (all ages)
Following the necklace making workshop, Joel Isaak will provide hands-on demonstrations of how to turn dried salmon skins into leather for students of all ages. Participants can try out the different techniques and see various types of artwork that can be made out of salmon skin.
