4:30pm | Fri, June 5 | @thewww

This exhibit shares the history of women’s suffrage in Alaska and shows how national and local activism brought the vote to Alaska women citizens in 1913, seven years before the passage of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution. Alaska’s Suffrage Star features the stories of Alaska women voting rights activists, from philanthropic miner, Nellie Cashman, to Tlingit educator, Tillie Paul. This online exhibit is the companion to the traveling exhibit of the same name that is now making its way across the state.
